Bike Maintenance - RA Cycles

Bike Maintenance

A well-maintained bike is a faster bike — and the margin is larger than most riders expect. Drivetrain friction from a dirty, under-lubricated chain costs measurable watts. Frame protection prevents the paint damage that's expensive to fix and impossible to undo. And a clean bike is easier to inspect, which means problems get caught before they become mechanical failures mid-ride. RA Cycles carries 196 maintenance products across cleaning, lubrication, frame protection, and shop tools from brands that treat bike care chemistry as seriously as the bikes themselves.

The range includes Muc-Off's full lineup — pressure washer bundles, bulk cleaners, and degreasers — alongside CeramicSpeed's UFO wax and drip lubricants, Finish Line chain lubes for wet and dry conditions, Wolf Tooth, Boeshield, and Tri-Flow. RideWrap's tailored protection film is pre-cut to specific bike models, keeping paint intact under cable rub and rock strikes — a worthwhile investment on any high-end frame.

Bike Maintenance — What to Know

Chain lubrication is the maintenance task with the most direct impact on drivetrain efficiency and component life. The choice between wet and wax lubricants comes down to conditions: wet lubes handle rain and mud but attract grime and build up residue quickly; wax lubes run cleaner in dry conditions, produce less buildup, and are easier to re-apply on a clean chain. CeramicSpeed's UFO system takes wax further — melted wax-immersion lubrication that produces measurable friction reduction compared to standard drip lubes. For most road cyclists, a quality wax lube combined with regular cleaning outperforms wet lube applied once and ignored.

Cleaning products break into several categories: biodegradable bike wash for frames and components, concentrated drivetrain degreasers, pressure washers for post-race cleanup, and frame protection film for long-term paint preservation. Muc-Off's bicycle pressure washer produces controlled low-pressure flow — safe for bearings in a way a garden hose is not. RideWrap's tailored kits are pre-cut to specific frame models, so installation is clean and coverage is complete from the start. Finish Line, Boeshield, and Tri-Flow round out the lubrication options with products suited to everything from cables and pivots to headsets and bottom brackets.

Pair maintenance products with the right bike tools for the job, or browse the full Muc-Off and CeramicSpeed collections for focused brand selections. Keep spare chains on hand so you can swap before one stretches past the service limit.
