Yeti MT Frame Info
The Yeti MT Frame is the frame-only kit for Yeti's newest trail bike, built around Sixfinity, the six-bar suspension linkage Yeti spent roughly a decade developing before putting it into a pedal bike. This kit includes the TURQ-series carbon frame and a Fox Factory Float X shock delivering 140mm of rear travel, but no fork — it's meant for a rider who already has a fork picked out or is moving one over from another bike. Yeti's complete MT builds pair this same frame with a 160mm Fox Factory 36, which is the fork travel to plan around when speccing one from scratch.
Sixfinity uses all six links in the linkage to control both wheel path and shock rate independently, which lets Yeti tune acceleration and braking behavior separately rather than trading one off against the other, with kinematics tuned per frame size rather than scaled uniformly. The MT frame also includes a flip-chip that switches between three leverage-rate curves without changing the frame's geometry, anti-squat, or anti-rise — Yeti describes the range as going from a racier, more consistent feel to a plusher, poppier one, so a rider can adjust how progressive the rear end feels without swapping parts.
The MT is only offered in Yeti's top-tier TURQ carbon, which the brand builds with a high-modulus layup aimed at impact resistance and stiffness where it's needed, along with a flex profile Yeti says is tuned to damp trail vibration. Geometry runs aggressive across the size range: a 64.5° head angle on every size, chainstays that lengthen with frame size (436mm on a Small up to 452mm on an XL) to keep front-rear balance consistent, and reach spanning 430mm to 505mm across S through XL. Riders who want to fine-tune reach further can do so with aftermarket headset cups, since the frame uses a ZS44/56 head tube standard with integrated alignment notches built in for that purpose.
Yeti built in a handful of details aimed at making the MT easier to actually live with on long rides. Frame storage — Yeti calls it "the Cavity" — holds tools, tubes, or snacks low in the frame, closed off by a CNC-machined door with a roller-cam latch and a rubber gasket seal, with an integrated mount for an AirTag or Tile tracker underneath. Cables run through carbon tubes inside the frame, secured with pinch bolts at each end, paired with a redesigned chain-slap silencer to keep the bike quiet on rough trail. Dropper post insertion is unobstructed down to the seatpost collar, with room for a 150mm dropper on a Small, 180mm on a Medium, and 210mm on a Large or XL. Pivot bearings use a floating collet design with what Yeti calls optimized load distribution, meant to extend the interval between bearing services.
Early press coverage has been consistent on how the MT rides: Pinkbike called it "very sporty" with "a lot of pep," Blister Review described it as "energetic, nimble, and responsive" while still composed enough to push hard without running out of margin for error, and Bicycling called Yeti's Sixfinity suspension the best rear suspension the reviewer had ridden.
The frame ships in sizes S through XL, in Gunmetal, Turquoise, or Redrum, and is built exclusively around 29" wheels, a threaded BSA bottom bracket, a UDH derailleur hanger, a 12x148mm rear axle, and a 31.6mm seatpost. It's a frame for a rider building up an aggressive trail bike who wants Yeti's latest suspension platform and is comfortable sourcing their own fork.
